There’s nothing quite as comforting as a warm cup of Atole de Guayaba after being out in the cold. This Guava Atole is smooth, rich, and definitely hits the spot.

Instructions
0 Rinse the fruit. Cut of the ends. 1 Cut in half. 2 Place inside a large stock pot. 3 Cover with 2 1/2 cups of water. 4 Add the cinnamon stick and star anise. 5 Bring to a boil. 6 The fruit should be soft. Turn off the stove. 7 Remove the cinnamon and star anise. 8 Let cool slightly before adding everything, including the liquid, to a blender. 9 Blend until smooth. 10 Strain the mixture into the same pot, removing the seeds. 11 Dissolve masa harina with ½ cup water and pour into the pot immediately. 12 Bring to a low boil, stirring occasionally. 13 Add the milk. 14 Continue stirring. You don’t want any lumps to form. 15 Lower the heat and bring to a simmer again. About 15 minutes. 16 Turn heat off and enjoy!View original recipe
