cup refried beans
Instructions
0 In a large bowl, combine the masa harina and the salt. 1 Add the warm water. 2 Gradually mix the dry ingredients with the water until it forms a large masa dough. 3 It will look like wet sand. 4 With wet hands, make a ball of dough. About the size of a tennis ball. 5 Pat out the dough. It should cover your hand and look like a thick tortilla. 6 Add 1 tablespoon of refried beans to the center of the masa in your hand. 7 Fold over the ends to seal up the masa. It will look like a taco or empanada. 8 Be careful not to squeeze or push out any beans. 9 Slowly start to flatten the masa out until it resembles a long, pointy football. 10 Heat the griddle or skillet. 11 Place the tlacoyos on the griddle. 12 Cook for 5-7 minutes per side. 13 Remove from the griddle and place on a plate. 14 Add desired toppings. 15 Serve with salsa. 16 Enjoy!
